superheroes: fashion and fantasy

looking through the metropolitan museum of art’s upcoming events calendar, i got so excited when i saw that they will soon be holding an exhibit concentrating on connections, both symbolic and metaphorical, between fashion and the superhero.

yes, of course there were contextual implications to your wearing that batman costume during your fifth-grade halloween party. what did you think?

it will be held from may 7th until september 1st in the special exhibition galleries (1st floor) of the metropolitan museum of art, if anyone wants to join me in a visit this summer.
