after the gym this morning, i stopped at a local community thrift shop that i had seen but never taken time out to visit; it was crowded and smelled a bit like cabbage, but here is what i bought:
total damage done: $25. i am so ready for fall, it isn’t even funny.
hang on, still “rofl”ing.
Here’s what put Sara over the top. She found a picture of this outrageous look on the street!
“This clothing is understandably difficult to place on the “street”, worn by everyday women, but sometimes it is nice to just fantasize for a moment. i suppose maybe i should step back and think about what i just said, because i am incorrect; this dress has in fact already been seen in public and on a ‘normal’ woman, more specifically captured by stylesightings and facehunterat paris fashion week.”
You should really take a look at the StyleSightings blog. Amazing looks on the street. I wouldn’t say superior to NYC fashion week….but exemplary.
CONGRATS AGAIN SARA!!!
Email me and let me know where to send your box of goodies. As the weeks have passed, I have continued to add more fun stuff to the package, so you just scored a TON of loot!
This Christmas I’ll be doing a contest for 5 gift bags filled with MY favorite things! Everything you’ve heard me rave about: Paul Mitchell Lavender Mint Shampoo and Conditioner, Soul Cycle, Cargo lipstick, and so much more…ALL YOURS!
rofl. i won.
AND THE WINNER IS…..
Sara who submitted Gareth Pugh.
Wow, is this 2009 or 2029??
Here’s what she had to say:
“Pugh consistently flaunts his wild and crazy fantasies on the runway each season, and this past week, he blew them all out of the water. It almost seemed as though the audience was stuck in the black-and-white version of the queen of heart’s garden [from Alice in wonderland]. With a nod toward Queen Elizabeth the first with thickly ruffled colors and sweeping capes, we can all lose ourselves in the frosty monotones and delicate, yet intense, pleatings of each piece. in addition to all of those inspirations, he added a dash of futurism and mixed it all into a big bowl to create this collection.”
styling: markyb
without much explanation, mark came to me in the hopes that i could spice up his wardrobe a little bit. sometimes all you need is a bit of inspiration from an outside source to have your eyes opened.
though he had no specific plans for this particular outfit, my goal was to create something comfortable and simple, with a sense of humor and a dash of color, that he could wear anytime. since it is getting colder, it is important for me to suggest a variety of ways for a guy to stay warm. this time, i combined a hoodie and blazer, rather than just a heavy coat/jacket, layered over a plain white t-shirt. you don’t need much to have an appropriate end result. plus, i love the shoes. click the picture.
graffiti artist/hotelier/club owner [of the beatrice inn] andré saraiva has put on a new hat; he recently designed his own clothing line after finding a ‘void’ in his favorite stores. it will be shown at the boutique black block, self-owned, of course, at contemporary museum palais de tokyo in paris.
dang, talk about a “renaissance man”. i get stressed out just by getting dressed in the morning.
you look great, andrew! happy birthday!
awoj:
Thank you everyone for a great birthday weekend - let’s see if tomorrow is just as great
(although I’m more than sure it will be!)As Mary says, I think that this outfit would make Sara Zucker proud!…
now I kind of hope she follows me… haha
